International adoption is operated through strict procedures and protocol. Natural disasters like earthquakes can leave many children orphaned or lost but at times like this adoption is not possible. Children need to be kept safe in their own countries and efforts made to locate family members who may be looking for them.
There are already many charities and organisations providing humanitarian help and aid on the ground in Turkey and Syria so the best way to help is by making a donation.
IAC recommends supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee or The United Nations Refugee Agency.
