Happy New Year

2022 is a momentous year for IAC as we will turn 25! Since 1997 we have been transforming the lives of the world's most vulnerable children by supporting people who wish to adopt.  Hundreds of families have worked with us since then.  In 2009 we became a full adoption agency and then in 2014 we extended our services to those wishing to adopt in the UK.  Since 2017 we have also been advising on cases where children from the UK are being placed abroad with family members.  Our services have been consistently judged to be outstanding by Ofsted over three inspections and we are really proud of that, and passionate about the work that we do.

Whilst we remain in the midst of the pandemic we are working hard to support all our adopters at every stage of the process.  Thanks to our numerous funders we have successfully manged to expand our adoption support services over the past two years as we recognise that adoption is for life and we are determined that our support should be too.

One of the changes we shall be making early in the year is relocating our IAC office.  We have been at Union Street in Barnet for ten years and it has very much been our home.  However, with our workforce now hybrid working we do not need the same space, and the savings we make by taking on a smaller, serviced office will go towards our service development instead.  So, from 31st January 2022 our new address will be 120 Cockfosters Road, Barnet. EN4 0DZ.  All other contact details will remain unchanged.  The new office is literally next door to Cockfosters tube station (Piccadilly line), which also has a huge public car park.

In March we shall be making further announcements about other events to mark what we have achieved, one of which will our first virtual conference in June.

Our CEO, Satwinder Sandhu says: "I am celebrating three years of working at IAC this month and I am so proud, and enormously privileged, to be leading the charity into our 25th year.  We have shown how dynamic and committed our teams are over the course of the pandemic and we are actively building on what we have learned, as well as expanding all of our services and reach across the UK.  Everything we are doing, including working with adopted adults, is about continually informing our services so that our workforce can do even better for all those who need us.  We recognise that adoption does not end with the making of a legal order. Adoption is changing across the world, and so is IAC.  We have a lot more planned for the coming months so it is going to be a really busy, but very exciting year."
