Covid 19 - IAC’s message to those thinking about adoption

During this unprecedented time we are reaching out to those thinking about adoption and clarifying our current position at IAC.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have moved all our operations to remote working.  Response times may therefore be slower than usual, whilst we deal with increased numbers of enquiries.  We are committed to continuing all of our services for the foreseeable future and our dedicated teams continue to welcome enquiries from those who may be seeking information about adoption.  Our Advice Line is still the best way to obtain information and our experienced team will be pleased to help you if you live in one of our subscribing areas.  The children needing adoption today will still need homes when international restrictions are lifted so if intercountry adoption is right for you we will do what we can to support you.  As the process for intercountry adoption can take a minimum of 12 months in normal circumstances, we will be happy to talk you though the options and discuss whether now is a good time to begin.  We continue to be in contact with our international partners so that the information we provide is as up to date as possible.

We remain in direct communication with our approved and waiting adopters.  Our support services for families continued to be offered virtually and partnership with local authorities or other agencies where agreed.
